I don't fancy myself the chef, but my wife and I went to the WNC Farmers Market and got some blackberries, and I made my very first blackberry cobbler.   I was amazed at how easy it was too, thanks to Paula Deen's step-by-step instructions.  NOTE - instead of peaches, I find it works better to use blackberries in your blackberry cobbler.   Take 2 cups of berries, a cup of water and a cup of sugar.  Bring to a boil, then simmer 10 minutes before spooning onto the cobbler mixture.  You'll have extra syrup - don't use it all, or your cobbler will be too runny.  Here's a picture.  Yeah, I know most of it's gone.  That means it's good.
