Diabetes Awareness Month

Thursday, November 13th 2014 - All Day

86 million people in the US are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Less than 11% know it. The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program helps those at risk adopt healthy lifestyles by encouraging healthier eating, increased physical activity and losing a modest amount of weight through a supportive small group setting. Making and sustaining these lifestyle changes can reduce new cases of type 2 diabetes by up to 58%. Are you at risk? Go to www.ymcawnc.org/diabetes for more information.
